How Difficulties Are Spiritual Opportunities In Disguise

How you deal with difficulties, as well as opportunities, is key to your spiritual success.

Earth is the spiritual schoolhouse, and you’re here to learn and grow spiritually. Like any school, there are tests and challenges. You won’t be in control of everything around you, but you are in control of yourself, in how you deal with what’s going on. That the true measure of your spiritual maturity.

Fortitude: Strength Through Adversity

The spiritual attribute needed when the going gets tough is fortitude. Fortitude is strength through adversity. This comes through in the auric field as a brilliant golden light. When someone has a lot of gold in their aura, that person does not succumb to challenges easily. They refuse to play the role of the victim. They face challenges head on, and to the best of their ability, conquer them.

Navigating Difficult People and Situations

Difficulties can take on different forms. There are challenging situations not of our own making but missteps made by others around us that we must deal with. These situations can be very frustrating. How do you deal with this difficult person that’s upsetting your life? Are you going to succumb to anger, fear or resentment which will make things worse, or are you going to keep your balance and work through it? Hold your integrity when those around you are not holding theirs. It may take everything you have to keep that balance. You may want to hit back, but recognize that’s not going to make things better.

Resilience in the Face of Natural Disasters

ometimes the struggle is with a natural disaster. A hurricane, flood or fire comes through and it completely upsets your life. Pioneers, in the days of the wild west, would spend years building up their ranches and farms sometimes to see all go up in smoke in a fire. Without self-pity or complaining, they would rebuild. These pioneers had a lot of fortitude. They understood the dramas of life as they were living them, and they had incredible resilience.

Maintaining Integrity Amid Societal Dramas

Then there are societal dramas. What if a group of people are collectively making a wrong decision, and you have to go along with it? You have to hold your personal integrity, but at the same time, you’re part of the group. What do you do in a situation like that? We have to play our civic role. We need to be involved in the affairs of our city, state or country. Don’t sit on the sidelines and complain. Do your part to change things for the better.

When the Struggle Is Within

As dramatic as these difficulties can be, often the most challenging difficulties are not external; they are struggles from within. There are times when we really can be our own worst enemy. We can unintentionally become the antagonist in our own life. Maybe we did not handle things right, and now we’re feeling the effects of those missteps crying out, “Why am I going through this?” when we have to look no further than ourselves.

Courage, Wisdom, and the Soul’s Expansion

Be courageous. You have the spiritual power to overcome any challenge. Your aura is there to help you accomplish just that. The accumulation of life’s tests and dramas is the gaining of wisdom. Wisdom is earned experience. As you understand and embody the lessons that life teaches with the dignity that is required of you, your soul grows. You reach that shining dawn, that new, glorious horizon in life’s great adventure.
