Humility is Your Greatest Spiritual Strength

Humility means taking your rightful place in the divine plan of life, and not the place you may think you should be. Taking your divine place is not just a nice idea; it’s a power.

There is a great power that permeates the universe. It is the energetic foundation of the great plan and each of us. For us to fully drink from this fountain of light, we need to be positioned in the divine architecture of the cosmos.

Some people have a hard time accepting humility because they think of being humble as a form of debasement or as an affront to their dignity. They confuse being spiritually humble with being humiliated. This confusion is understandable because of the way the word is most often used. Yet, humility is just the opposite of debasement. Spiritual humility is seeing yourself as an instrument and co–creative being with the Divine. If anything, true humility creates a greater sense of worth, because you understand how precious you are in God’s eyes.

Your Accomplishments Are Not Your Own

Your talents and accomplishments happen because of your dedicated efforts, but they are not your own. They are the glory of life flowing through you. You cannot claim them as your possessions. If you glorify yourself, you cut yourself off from the tree of life and your victory will be short-lived. Glorify God, do the work of life, and the glory of life will flow through you. Humility is one of the greatest virtues because it perptually connects you to the divine source.

We often fall into the ego trap. We inflate or deflate our importance. We sometimes think we are better than or not as good as others. When we do this, we are not expressing the quality of humility, which throws us out of spiritual alignment. There will always be people further along the path than you and those who are not as far along as you.

Pride is the Culprit

What gets in the way of expressing humility? Pride.

Pride has been the cause of so much strife, yet many people regard pride as a positive quality. They think, “Why not feel proud of an accomplishment well done?” On the surface, this would seem to make sense. But a deeper look reveals the fundamental error in this thinking.

Certainly acknowledge and enjoy the fruits of your labors. But when you claim the accomplishments your own, you move away from the divine consciousness, and start to believe that success is coming from your own efforts alone, forgetting the wellspring from where your inspiration comes. If you continue along those lines, you will inevitably build the illusion of your superiority over others, which can quickly lead to arrogance. Pride usually shows up in the aura as burnt orange and distorted avocado green energies radiating from the emotional body in a jerky motion.

Developing Humility

Pride is not easy to overcome. You may have a hard time recognizing it as something that needs to be worked on. To paraphrase Ben Franklin, “I don’t think I will ever master humility, because if I did, I’d be so darn proud of myself.”

When you are in tune with the divine, many things will happen for you, and if you’re not careful, you may start to claim these accomplishments as your own. This is a test to see if you clearly understand the relationship between you and your divine nature. As you begin to recognize the spiritual root as the life-sustaining power behind all your accomplishments, and give credit and glory to your divine source, then you have begun to develop humility.

The Universe Is Conspiring for Your Success

We all want to accomplish and be recognized for our achievements. Sometimes in the course of our spiritual evolution, it takes us to fame and fortune – the visible successes. But more times than not, our evolution leads through more quiet times away from the limelight. Both are equality valuable and essential to our spiritual unfoldment. There’s a divine plan for every single soul on earth. Sometimes we are cooperating with the plan and sometimes we’re not.

The universe is conspiring for your success. True power comes from being in your spiritual place, because then you are aligning with the divine flow. Cooperate with the divine plan, and you will achieve the most with the greatest sense of satisfaction.
