It’s said that to truly live the spiritual life, you must renounce all earthly things… especially money. After all, “Money is the root of all evil,” is it not? Is it therefore spiritually prudent to be poor?
In reality, this is a common spiritual misunderstanding of an essential spiritual truth. And it stops many people from aligning with the flow of their God-given gift of prosperity. This can lead to not only pushing away financial prosperity, but prosperity in all forms, including vibrant health, overflowing happiness, a wealth of ideas, rich friendships, etc.
From the metaphysical point of view, there is nothing inherently evil or wrong with having money! In fact, the truth is quite the opposite. Money, like everything else, is a form of energy. Being in the flow of prosperity is sharing in God’s light, power, and infinite wealth. You are meant to partake in all of God’s blessings, financial prosperity being one form of it.
But doesn’t the Bible say, “Money is the root of all evil”? And doesn’t Jesus say “…it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God” (Matt. 19:24)?
These are common misquotes and misinterpretations.
The Bible actually says “The love of money is the root of all evil” (1 Timothy 6:10). And Jesus’s quote is in reference to the attachment to money above all else. It’s not that a rich man cannot enter the kingdom of God, but rather that someone who is attached to his or her possessions will not be able to enter the divine kingdom until that person learns to let go of material attachments.
If you worship possessions of any kind, it’s much harder for you to come into your spiritual consciousness, because your mind is focused on material things. Instead, reverse your priorities and direct your attention towards God. Then your prosperity will flow, and it will be in balance with other aspects of your life.
In reality, there is nothing in this world that belongs to us.
We are the steward — and not the owner — of God’s abundance and supply. We tend to think in terms of things being ours: we live in our houses, drive our cars, have our bank account, etc. In truth, we are only stewards of these things. Nothing is “ours,” not even the bodies we currently reside in.
Ultimately, prosperity in all forms comes from one source–God. God is the ultimate source. Your employer, your investments, your clients and customers are channels for God’s wealth to flow through to you, then from you to others. Spiritual mastery around money comes from knowing the divine laws of prosperity and applying them in your life consistently. By touching into your spiritual source, you’re touching into the divine unending fountain of supply that is always there for you whenever you need it.
Prosperity is a talent and skill just like anything else in life.
It demonstrates your ability to harness the spiritual power of the earth in pursuit of your purpose. In taking the next step in building your prosperity consciousness, meditate with the turquoise ray of abundance and supply. Feel the power of divine wealth flowing through your consciousness and aura inspiring and uplifting you. Then, fearlessly apply that divine consciousness in your life, and your spiritual abundance will unfold in new and beautiful ways.
